KAYUHAN JANTUNG KU

Shah Alam

This is a ride inspired by the former Malaysian cyclist, En Shaharudin bin Jaafar who won the gold medal during the SEAP Games in 1965. As a heart patient, he who underwent the heart by pass surgery this year and his deep passion for cycling inspired the ride in conjunction with the ‘World Heart Day’.

Heart disease and diseases of the pulmonary circulation are the top killers in Malaysian government hospitals. “Malaysians are suffering from heart attacks about 10 years earlier than their counterparts in developed countries”, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai. Malaysian patients who had severe heart attacks were far younger, with an average age of 56 compared with people from developed countries in the West, where the average age was 65. In Malaysia, coronary heart disease or heart attack affects 141 out of every 100,000 people each year.

One of the ways is carrying out prevention programs is to encourage people to have a healthy, active lifestyle and eat a healthy diet.

Distance: 15-20km from Dataran Shah Alam

Cut off time: ONE AND A HALF HOUR

Category: Open to all male and female age 13 years old and above

Itinerary of event day at starting point Dataran Shah Alam:

6.00 am : Late registration opens (For last minute participants)

6.45 am : Late registration closes

7.00 am : Participants registration and collection of t shirt & goody bags

8.00 am : Briefing and speech from organizer and sponsors

8.30 am : Flag off

12.00 pm : Lunch
